Fantasy 6 Nations 2025 – Only a Storm Away
We’re back! 2025 marks the 29th anniversary of the Fantasy 6 Nations, supporting LauraLynn (and various children’s hospitals before it) with your generous support. This weekend, as you tie down your trampolines, bring in your bins and “work from home” ahead of Storm Eowyn, is the perfect time to make your entry.
This year we have made it even easier with a “QuickPick” button which will autofill your entry form with random spreads, from -60 to +60, which you can then modify before submitting.
The majority will of course use their extensive rugby intelligence, taking form, venue, injury status and astrology into account.
For instance, England have only won 2 of their last 8 matches. However, 4 of those 6 losses were by a single score. Borthwick has shaken up his squad and backroom, and this year must mean business.
Ireland, now under Simon Easterby, have stuttered since the World Cup, with worries around the lineout particularly. They have a new duo battling for the 10 shirt, and are heavily reliant on Gibson-Park staying fit. However Leinster’s unbeaten form this season gives ground for hope.
Finn Russell is Scotland’s Marmite, but love him or hate him he leads a dangerous backline behind a workmanlike pack. Scotland will start with two home games then travel to Twickenham, a happy hunting ground for them in recent years, before having Wales at home. By the time the go to Paris for the last match they could well be contenders.
Benneton – the core of Italy’s side – have beaten La Rochelle and Gallagher Premiership table toppers Bath already this season. Add in the likes of Toulouse’s Ange Capuozzo and they are no pushover this year. Upsets to come.
Wales, surely the underdogs of the competition this year, are “not to be written off” says Gatland. Hard to put much money on them though.
Who does that leave? Oh yes, France. Can anyone beat them? England and Ireland both have them at home. Even so. Bordeaux Begles and Toulouse have between them averaged 55 points per match in the ERC so far this season against Europe’s best, Toulouse finishing with a point a minute against Leicester last week.
Alldritt, Atonio, Marchand, Frisch, Jalibert, Ntamack, Penaud, Ramos, le Garrec. All would walk into any club in the world tomorrow. Not to mention he who cannot be mentioned. We can but hope.
Don’t forget to link up with others and enter a team this year – €500 for the top team, has to be easy money! Obviously it’s your year to win the €1,000 championship outright, but why not go for the double?
So many thanks to our sponsors for once again fronting up and providing the prizemoney and a very generous donation to LauraLynn. They have all been fantastic supporters of the competition over the years. God bless them and all who sail in them.
