Not too long after this photo was taken, Gaye Vaughan contracted a virulent form of cancer and died only a few months later at the age of 59.

She was never a woman to let things get her down, so in her memory her family have started The Gaye Vaughan Foundation, to celebrate her life and to give something back for all the good times we had together.

The Foundation has three objectives which were all close to Gaye’s heart, which are:

  • To continue to help and support children and their families who through sickness are having a tough time. (MORE)
  • To conquer Cancer  – and yes we know we can’t do it all, so the GVF has decided to support research locally.  (MORE)
  • To support individuals in moving to third level education who otherwise would not be able to. (MORE)
